As a Craft/Sales Specialist you will conduct in-store demonstrations to generate excitement, brand awareness, and drive sales through event execution and promotions. Interact with consumers, as well as conduct creative demonstrations and how-to clinics. The Craft Sales Specialist is responsible for set up and breakdown of their working area, preparing products for demonstration and arrange inventory on scheduled event days.
Conduct Demo Event for approximately 6-12 hours:
Engage the consumer by creating brand awareness and enthusiasm
Dynamically and aggressively sell product to consumers.
Ability to use/learn our client's products and create projects during demos.
Move around demo area to approach customers within 10 feet of demo area and engage them in a professional manner which generates enthusiasm for the product and the event
May be required to expediently escort customers from the demo area location to other locations within store to obtain product
Set up event
Assemble demonstration table and display products and information.
Carry appliances/equipment weighing up to 40 lbs a distance of 5-50 feet
Store and transport products between events
Purchase product and supplies as necessary
Break down/clean up event
Clean up demo area
Return equipment and products to storage area or private vehicle (requires carrying/lifting up to 40 lbs a distance of 5-50 feet)
Train Retail Sales Associates on clients' products and product benefits. Generate positive PR and Brand Awareness in-store. Ensure clients' product is "Top of Mind" among Store Associates. Increase Sales Associate recommendation of clients' product.
Proactive Relationship Building:
Communicate professionally and effectively with ASM Campaigners and our client's management team, Retail Sales Associates, Retail Management Team and Customers. Determine unique ways to forge new relationships.
Study product materials to develop product knowledge
Review event schedule
Complete call reports, timesheets and expense reports
Attend training materials
Check voice mails, emails
Calls with supervisor/others as needed
18+ years old
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year experience in event marketing, demonstrations, sales, or retail/grocery or applicable craft experience.
Ability to build strong relationships with store Managers and store customers
Friendly, outgoing personality; confidence and enthusiasm to engage retail shoppers
Great communication skills e.g. ability to connect with customers and sell products
Basic knowledge of how to use a computer; access the internet; send, receive, and review email; download documents from website or email; submit event reports.
Conduct demonstration within period of time designated for the event
Execute demonstrations on scheduled date and time
Stand for up to 12 hours and actively move around store up to a distance of about ½ mile (other than legally required breaks/meal periods) to obtain, set up, and clean up demonstration area and related equipment/materials; obtain product from shelves; conduct demonstration event
Ability to lift and carry 20 to 40lbs without assistance and carry a distance of up to 50 feet.
Ability to work required schedule for this program
Access to a computer and a phone on a daily basis
Satisfactory completion of background check/drug testing subject to applicable law
Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate.
