How to change your address
From LifePortal Content Wiki
This is important because when you move you will want to make sure your mail gets sent to the new address!
Steps:
1. you go to www.usps.com
2. Click on the change address link
3. Fill out the online forms
4. Wait for your mail to come
You can also go to the closest post office and fill out and turn in the paper work there. When you submit change of address forms the post office gives you a bunch of coupons for the area that can help with moving expenses.
Helpful Idea: If you know the people who are living at your old address, or know that you can trust them, leave your address with them so they can forward the mail that the post office misses. Also, give them a bunch of large envelopes with postage prepaid and have them send all the mail they get each week.
NOTE: Even if you change your address with the post office, you still need to call creditors (people you owe money to, like credit cards) and give them your new address. Sometimes people get the notice that your address has changed because they request it, but many people (and companies) don't request this notification and they won't know your new address unless you inform them. The post office will only forward your mail for one year.
